Ground water and soil sampling was completed at Lake Ivanhoe, Orlando in response to a spill directly adjacent to the test site. A collaboration between ATI and GeoView resulted in a successful project despite challenging subsurface conditions. Vacuum excavation proved critical on this property, revealing multiple utilities, including 2–4” steel water mains that was invisible to GPR. Given the heavy presence of aggregate, flowable grout, and roots onsite, this method was undeniably the right choice for the project. The team utilized the Vermeer VX75-800, a highly versatile unit well-suited for tight-access sites. Its efficiency and capacity made it ideal for exposing multiple layers while preserving surrounding infrastructure. Following excavation, the ATI team deployed a GEOPROBE 7822DT with Direct Push Technology (DPT) to install eight monitoring wells (MWs) to a depth of 15 feet. Each well was 1.5 inches in diameter with 10 feet of prepack screen. Additionally, one MW was installed to 35 feet. All wells were completed with a 2' x 2' x 6" pad and an 8" bolt-down cover.
