Project scope and field context

Ambient Technologies Drilling Team completed Direct Push Technology (DPT) Drilling, Soil & Water Sampling, Concrete Coring and Monitoring Wells at a former chemical and supply plant in Tampa, Florida. A GEOPROBE 7730 was used to install monitoring wells in the larger warehouse and used a GEOPROBE 420M was used in restrictive spaces, using the electric and hydraulic power fed from the GEOPROBE 7730 parked outside of the building. All the locations were hand-augured to a minimum depth of 5ft below ground surface (bgs) to be cleared of any undocumented obstructions and utilities. The Ambient Technologies Team used GEOPROBE DPT tooling to collect groundwater samples via temporary “hydropunch” well tooling at depths from 8 to 12 feet below ground surface, 16 to 20 feet bls, and 24 to 28 feet bgs at the selected boring locations. GEOPROBE rods and drive points were used to drill the bore holes and then have access to a 30-minute groundwater sampling process to complete delineation of the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which are common ground-water contaminants. VOCs typically are industrial solvents, such as trichloroethylene; fuel oxygenates, such as methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE); or by-products produced by chlorination in water treatment, such as chloroform. DPT tooling decontamination was performed prior to the first sampling location, between each sampling interval and location. All decontamination fluids and solids were collected and containerized in 55-gallon drums. Project Services:  20 Soil Borings for Groundwater Sampling down to 26 ft. Concrete coring was performed using a HUNT coring machine Hand clear to 5 ft and macrocore to Total Depth Used a small difficult access rig, a GEOPORBE 420M inside the small building Plug and grout all borings once completed
